Getting enough sleep isn’t a nice-to-have – it’s critical to your health! According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, 35% of adults get less than 7 hours of sleep per night and a lack of sleep is associated with chronic disorders like diabetes, substance abuse, and depression. When we get overwhelmed and strapped for time, sleep is usually the first trade-off we make to try to make it all work. Unfortunately, this strategy has the opposite effect – less sleep makes us less productive and more stressed!
This holiday season, be sure to check your sleep habits to make sure you’re not missing out on precious ZZZs. Late night office party? Block time the next day for a nap or an early bedtime. Thinking about staying up to do your online shopping? Wait until the morning so you can keep your sleep routine in tact.
