Want To Teach Zumba® Classes? Read This

Considering becoming a Zumba® instructor? Curious about what to expect? We’ve got you covered with tips for before, during, and after your Basic 1 (B1) Zumba® instructor training!

Before B1:
Pack a bag; we recommend LOTS of water, lunch and snacks, a change of clothes, and a pen or two.

Prepare for a day of exercise and a lot of fun by getting a good night’s rest the day before.

During B1:
Enjoy starting the day with one of the most fun Zumba® classes you’ve ever taken, taught by one of our very own top-notch and seasoned choreographers, meaning you’ll take an actual class that you will never forget!

Learn the core rhythms and the Zumba® formula through mini lectures and practice sessions. You’ll want to take notes to keep track of all the details.

Network with other aspiring instructors – your fellow trainees can become a great support system as you are getting started. And who knows – maybe you’ll meet your new bestie?

Sign up for the Zumba Instructor Network (ZIN™) to get instant access to choreo, music, and continuing learning opportunities like our Zumba Instructor Convention. Becoming a part of the ZIN community is the fastest way to gain a supportive family and opens the doors to many career opportunities within Zumba!

After B1:
Congratulations, you’re officially a licensed Zumba® Instructor! Everyone who completes the training will receive their license, which means that you are ready to teach.

Review what you’ve learned a few times until it becomes second nature. You’ll go home with a review DVD and, if you sign up for a ZIN membership, My First Class (an entire session, from warm-up to cool-down that makes it easy to teach for your very first time)!

Get started through gym auditions or setting up your very own first class.
