This Autumn Don’t Fall Out of Your Routine

Today is the official first day of Autumn. The fall season always has a back-to-school feel; a reminder that it’s time to get serious and focus. As temperatures start to fall, don’t let your exercise goals take a backseat. Here are some tips!

The Routine
Just like we were taught in school, our differences are what make us unique and they need to be embraced. Everybody and every body is different, so stick to a routine that works for you! If you’re a morning person, use that time as a dedicated hour to workout. If sleeping in is your thing, make it a habit to break a sweat after work. Bottom line: acknowledge that what works for you may be different for your best friend or this month’s Hollywood It-Girl.

The Supplies
A changing season means new wardrobe staples and the way you dress can be a great motivator for getting things done! Curate a fitness wardrobe that makes you want to run to a Zumba® class just so you can wear your favorite outfit. Let us help you get started – we have a few ideas for how to treat yourself!

The Discipline
Forget “no more teachers, no more books”… it’s back to business this time of year. You’ll want to set some goals, and make them SMART: specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and time-bound. This is a great way to hold yourself accountable whether you want to train for a long distance run, drop a few pounds, or prepare for a Zumbathon!

The Teachers
Your favorite fitness instructors do it all because of and for you! There’s no better motivation than knowing someone is waiting for you at the gym or in the studio. If you’re just getting started, find a class and introduce yourself to the instructor. If you find someone you like, become a class regular. You’re sure to form a bond that will go past those studio walls.

What’s your favorite way to stay motivated this time of year?
