What I Did Before I Turned 40

“First and foremost, I don’t regret having my beautiful daughters, as they are my reason for living. But, I was so embarrassed that I weighed more post-pregnancy than I did when I was actually pregnant. I really let myself go. I was discriminated against and rejected from job opportunities because of my weight. I was afraid to do things like ride a bike or go on a rollercoaster. I hated shopping because the brands I liked didn’t make clothing in my size. I suffered from chronic asthma, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and depression. And when my mom passed away, my only comfort was food. I reached a point where I knew I had to take charge and make a change. I turn 40 next week and I’ve never felt happier than I do now.”
