Want Amazing Skin? Follow These Tips

We all need to be comfortable in our own skin but have you ever seen someone whose skin seems to glow? It would be easy to be comfortable with skin like that! What do they do to get that natural shine? At this point you should know that quick fixes are not the answer. Even though things like cosmetic procedures may help you feel instantly great, they don’t do much in the long term.

Our everyday habits are what affect us from the inside out and should be what we focus on to achieve great skin for the long run. Over time we see the results that eating healthy and working out can have on our body. It’s the same way with skin. It craves consistent nourishment. Let’s get into how you can naturally start getting your glow on.

Water: nothing is more important to skin than proper hydration. Water is a vehicle for our body’s natural detoxification, so without water our bodies can’t get rid of toxins. Toxins aren’t good for any part of the body including the skin. So make hydrating easy: carry a bottle of water with you, sip consistently throughout the day, and eat lots of fruits and vegetables (most have high water content).

Quit smoking: smoking deepens lines and gives the skin an uneven complexion. Plus, it’s not news that smoking is bad for you. This is a habit you should drop immediately.

Use sunscreen: frequent tanning or exposure to the sun without sunscreen creates more wrinkles and gives the skin an uneven look. Not all sunscreens give complete protection from the harmful rays, UVA and UVB. Make sure you get one that covers both. Also, look for one with at least 30 SPF. This stuff doesn’t last all day either. You have to reapply every few hours if you’re outside.

Manage stress: exercise is a great stress mediator. Try a Zumba® class, go for a walk, or do some yoga for stress relief and better circulation. Sweating is a way to rid the body of toxins so don’t skip your workout!

Eat well: processed foods are full of preservatives, dyes, sugar, salt… I can keep going but I think I made my point. Focus on natural foods without a laundry list of chemicals in the ingredient section of the label. Try Zumba Shake Shake Shake™ for a nutritional boost and sustained energy. It’s packed with natural ingredients like broccoli, tomatoes, and blueberries and it tastes great! Healthy food gives the body the tools to function at its best. This includes collagen production for firm skin and detoxification for clear skin.

Start implementing these simple habits into your daily routine and watch your skin brighten naturally. Consistency is key to developing long lasting, healthy behaviors so stick to it! Soon you may be the one getting asked, “What do you do to get your skin to glow like that?”
