The Unsung Hero program recognizes ZIN™ Members around the world for their outstanding contributions to their communities, and for their ability to inspire others. This month, July 2016, we celebrate ZIN™ Members, Rose Marie Berberena and Rob Powell, in South Carolina in the United States, for their support and dedication to supporting veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
You may know Rose and Rob from their hilarious #ZINProblems videos that perfectly represent common situations that most all ZIN Members go through. But in addition to their mission to make us all laugh, they are also on a mission to help others in need.
Last month, Rob and Rose Marie hosted a Zumbathon® charity event to raise money for Active Heroes, a non-profit organization that supports veterans with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Each day, 22 veterans commit suicide as a result of their fight with PTSD. This cause is very important to both Rose and Rob as they are both directly connected to the military community. Rob actually lost a dear friend, Major Christopher Kennedy, who after several tours, took his life as a result of facing Post Traumatic Stress Disorder silently.
Rose Marie and Rob invited guest ZIN Members from all over their local region, many of whom are either former or currently active military members, to bring their energy to support this significant cause.
Together, this team of ZINs along with Rose and Rob, raised enough money to support treatment for veterans with PTSD, and equally as crucial, helped to raise awareness.
Rose Marie and Rob, thank you for your dedication, for raising awareness, and for the passion you share with our global ZIN Community.
