The Unsung Hero program recognizes ZIN™ Members around the world for their outstanding contributions to their communities, and for their ability to inspire others. This month, September 2017, we celebrate ZIN™ Member, Maureen Layden, from Massachusetts, for her leadership in promoting love, equality and support for all.
Maureen has been a ZIN Member since 2014, and during this time, she has managed to bring people together from across the globe. Much of this fellowship takes place within a special Facebook group Maureen created called ZINs Stand for More Love and Less Hate! This supportive, inclusive group was created when a group of ZINs led by Community leaders, Cariann Mazzeiand Tony Santiago, were inspired to unite others in positivity following the Pulse tragedy in the late spring of 2016.
Group Description: Here’s a place we (ZINs) can share fundraisers and other ideas to help support our communities struggling with hate and adversity.”
A constant advocate for those in many different types of need, Maureen not only dedicates her personal time to volunteer, lead events and offer individuals support. She takes the time to reach out to people across many different Communities to rally us and bring us together in unity.
Thank you, Maureen, for reminding us everyday that we are stronger together.
