Both members of the gutsy team JKing y Maximan hail from Puerto Rico, the breeding ground for top reggaeton artists. Like another popular duo, Jowell y Randy, Jaime “JKing” Borges and Héctor “Maximan” Padilla enjoyed early success as part of the reggaeton group Casa de Leones (House of Lions), where they developed their catchy but edgy pop style. By 2008, Borges and Padilla had joined forces to create their own innovative brand of music.

The 2010 release of their first album as a duo, Superhéroes, landed them a top-10 hit single with the radio-friendly “Cuando, Cuando Es?,” a rhythmic medley of pounding synthesizers and breakneck lyrics. Layered with bustling electronic basslines and dembow beats, Superhéroes gives the pair an energetic new sound that appeals to both reggaeton purists and pop-fusion enthusiasts.
