Like many teens, Samantha Arregui was a victim of bullying.” I was the chubby girl with no rhythm,” Samantha recalled. “I couldn’t dance to save my life, and people teased me because of my weight.” Samantha tried to get fit, but could never stick with a workout plan, citing boredom. After taking her first Zumba class in 2012, she knew she was on to something great. “I lost the weight and gained so much more: confidence, passion, and relationships that will last a lifetime,” Samantha explained.
In 2014, Samantha accomplished one of her biggest dreams: becoming a licensed Zumba instructor. She now leads Zumba workouts alongside her mentor and is excited to begin teaching on campus at the University of South Florida where she will be attending college in June of 2015.
“Teaching Zumba class makes me feel empowered, I love being able to forget about all my problems and feel the music. My motto is ‘Do what you love, love what you do,’ and with the Zumba program, I have definitely found that!”
