Dance Moves for Your Office Holiday Party

‘Tis the season for celebrating the holidays with your colleagues. If your team is headed out to a bar, lounge, or club, you’ll want to have these work-appropriate moves ready to bust out on the dance floor.

The Water Cooler

This dance is done in pairs as you awkwardly try to make conversation. Avoid eye contact with your dance partner as you circle around one another grasping at discussion topics.

The Promotion

A traditional celebration dance, the Promotion is known for its big, dynamic movements like jumping up and down, kicking a leg in the air, and fist pumping wildly.

The Conservative

Keep it clean with this classic move appropriate for any office party. With the Conservative, avoid any move that would give away that you’re a Zumba aficionado. To nail this move, gently step from side to side without moving your hips, shimmying, or otherwise shaking what your mama gave ya.

The Avoidance

Everybody has that colleague who you try to avoid at all costs. You know the one. This move employs a smooth slide to the left, repeated as many times as necessary to get away from you-know-who.

The 5:00

Typically reserved for after the boss has left, the 5:00 is used to turn your work party into a twerk party! Go ahead and get your twerk on! But, use this move with caution and remember: you have to see these people in the morning… and every day after that.
